Around May of 2022 Niki’s car was having lots of trouble with rear end noise and stuttering when driving. We took her car to the shop. They needed to replace the entire drivetrain and rear differential.
The technician said that this was caused by an accident / hitting something on the road.
I was very lucky that somehow the garage was able to get this covered by a technical bulletin / recall even though the cause was due to slamming the bottom of the car off of something. We know this because the transmission mount was cracked due to impact/ hitting something. The transmission mount will not crack on its own and would require quite a bit of force/impact to crack.
Hard to say what happened. I can only speculate that she was drunk and whacked the car into something but have no proof.
